David A. Giannotti is Senior Counsel at Early Sullivan Wright Gizer & McRae LLP.

David has been an environmental law attorney for more than 35 years. He represents clients throughout the U.S. and internationally in matters concerning due diligence, compliance, remedy implementation, environmental risk assessment and environmental litigation. David has provided environmental law representation for a variety of businesses over the years, including:

Throughout his career spanning over three decades, David has served as in-house counsel to leading petroleum company Occidental Petroleum Corporation and its Board of Directors’ Environmental Committee. He has served as common counsel for multiple parties at several Superfund sites around the country and currently represents a group of companies at a Superfund site in Los Angeles. David has played a key role in landmark environmental law cases, conducted environmental due diligence reviews for multibillion-dollar transactions, and negotiated the largest partial settlements to date in EPA’s Superfund program totaling more than $650 million.

David is an active member of numerous industry and bar association committees and has written and lectured frequently on environmental issues. He was a contributing author to Law of Environmental Protection, published by the Environmental Law Institute, and A Practical Guide to Environmental Law, published by the American Law Institute/American Bar Association. He has been selected for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America” each year since 2020 for Environmental Law and Litigation – Environmental.

David received his law degree in 1971 from Emory University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969 from Ithaca College. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, New York, Tennessee and California.
